exmas PLOT SYNOPSIS
Exmas was a dynamic multimedia play (incorporating film, Skype, poetry and burlesque) that brought together a group of exes from different cultures and sexualities who begrudgingly collide at a Christmas dinner. The show was a contemporary commentary on sexuality and multiculturalism in Toronto and featured emotive characters battling feelings for current and past lovers while tackling themes of racism and friendship.
Exmas was a first time theatrical production for Debbie Deer Productions and received critical acclaim from audiences and media outlets such as Product Magazine and Proud FM and was dubbed by CBC's 'Here and Now' as one of the hottest Indie shows to hit Toronto's stages in 2013. The show ran at the iconic Buddies in Bad Times Theatre.

EUCHRED PLOT SYNOPSIS
In fall 2014, Debbie Deer directed Megan Hutton’s one act play, EUCHRED which ran at the Alumnae Theatre for the Gay Play Day Festival on September 26th and 27th. EUCHRED had 2 sold out audiences and was well received by critics. The play examined the lives of four friends with varied pasts including one woman who is transgendered and another who grew up in a Communist country. This was the second directorial production for Debbie Deer who previously wrote, directed and produced her critically acclaimed play Exmas showcased at the Buddies In Bad Times Theatre last year. The cast included, Jorie Morrow, Shannon Maunder, Samantha Lauzon, and Jillian Rees-Brown.
