  • Founder

    Debbie Deer Productions (DDP) is a multimedia production company est. 2012, that is founded by CEO Debbie Deer. Debbie is an award-winning Creative Technologist. She was also nominated for a Raindance Film Festival Award in 2025 for her role in A Christmas Carol VR.

    Originally from Kingston Jamaica, Debbie was enrolled in several theatre, dance and visual arts programs including the Jamaica Musical Theatre Company which was her most formative and treasured production training. She became 1st runner up Ms. Jamaica Universe which led to a career as a VJ and Asst. Producer for RETV (Jamaica's top entertainment channel) in her late teens. She went on to studying the Radio and TV Arts program at Ryerson University, minoring in Digital Media (2012).

    Today, Debbie has evolved her craft to become a Creative Technologist, Educator and Speaker. She is the Private Co-Investigator and Immersive Lab Lead at the Centre of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Centennial College. Her selected collaborations include being the Performance and XR IBPOC Fellowship Director, A Guest Instructor at York University teaching Extended Reality (XR) production and a Partner with Georgian College. In addition to Debbie Deer Productions, founder Debbie Deer formed an XR company called Orion Digital Innovations and Creations Inc. in 2021. She has been a speaker at The Next Stage Summit (Los Angeles), VRTO (Virtual Reality Toronto), She Gatherverse, Gratitude in Motion (Keynote) and Women in XR.

The Company

CEO and Founder Debbie Deer is a self-starter, marketing specialist, creative technologist, theatre producer, performer and educator. She created Debbie Deer Productions (DDP) from a passion and a dream to tell stories and connect to audiences. Through determination and an unyielding aim for excellence, DDP has a proven track record of success for every client we work with.

DDP uses cutting edge creativity and equipment to create, shoot, edit, and design for all your marketing needs. We will work with you from concept to final production to ensure that you achieve your productivity goals. DDP has worked with clients such as Luminato Festival, ByBlacks, The Enchante Network, Centennial College, Georgian College, York University, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, Dance Umbrella of Ontario (DUO), Byblacks and Rogers TV on various video productions, branding initiatives, graphic design, web design and theatrical campaigns. We are also proud to collaborate with some of Toronto's top videographers, lighting specialists, sound artists and web designers. This is our way of making the production sector equitable for us and our community.
